Grand Teton did not have as many wildlife sightings as Yellowstone (post coming soon, keep your eyes peeled!), but it sure did have a cool one! I saw a pronghorn earlier in the day and saw a moose in the early afternoon. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a very good picture of the pronghorn. I was not expecting to see a moose, but it was a very surreal and unique experience to see it. The photos above show the moose in a creek drinking water. I was a pretty good distance away from the moose, so that is why the photos are not very clear.
Grand Teton is home to many wildlife including, but not limited to: Grizzly bears, Black bears, Bison, Elk, Moose, Pronghorn, Beavers, Wolves, Sandhill Cranes, & Mule Deer. You absolutely have the opportunity to see any of these animals (and more!) if you visit Grand Teton National Park. Please remember though to keep a safe distance from wildlife. Utilize the use of binoculars and/or zoom on your camera to help you get a better a view of wildlife while keeping a safe distance. You should be at least 100 yards from bears and wolves and at least 25 yards from all other wildlife. For reference, 100 yards is about the length of an American Football field and 25 yards is about two school buses put together.
If you’ve been to Grand Teton comment below and let me know what wildlife you saw! If you haven’t been yet, let me know your favorite wildlife sighting at a national park or out in nature.
